Stories of Place

A person sitting drawing their experience on the High Street as part of Stories of Place

Stories of Place is a monthly and seasonal gathering of curious people to explore the stories that have been found and created on Dudley High Street.

This project is led by Time Rebel Holly.

Stories of Place draws on collage, photos, stories, poetry, sounds, maps, research from the past, present and imagined futures of Dudley High Street. Inspired by these stories, we prototype experiments together to bring us closer to futures where we can flourish as part of our planet.

HOW YOU CAN JOIN IN

Every month, we gather at the CoLab Dudley space on Dudley High Street. Our curiosity and experiments will often take us out onto the High Street to experience it in new ways.

Things to bring:

  • Curiosity

  • Eagerness to listen to and share ideas with others

  • Weather appropriate clothing (if you’re joining us in person)

You don’t have to come to every month. You can just drop in and out whenever it suits you.

Sign up to sessions here.

A collective resource of many voices has been growing through our online archive, with stories from Afro Histories Dudley, research and reimaginings from Architecture Masters students from Birmingham School of Architecture and Design, poetry, historical photos, and photos from local folk’s walks.
