Winter Cultural Collaborators Gathering

On the 7th December we held our final Cultural Collaborators Gathering of 2023. It was an opportunity for the Time Rebels of Dudley to share an update of the wonderful projects they have been co-creating with communities across the borough.

In total 30 creatives have been commissioned this year as part of our Arts Council England funded Project Grant. We wanted local people to help deliver the Dudley Creates - 100 year strategy in action, Bringing together a growing network of creative practitioners (Time Rebels) with local people and communities to design and deliver projects that look to the future.

The core parts of the project grant funding were to help us to:

  • Grow capacity and creative confidence to work on projects together

  • Hold space for communities and creatives to work alongside each other to develop ideas and creative ambition

  • Support a growing network of creative people across the borough bringing them together to support their ideas and work

  • Enable connections to nurture a thriving cultural ecology

  • Invite communities to imagine different and new futures in the places they live

  • Give local people a say on the types of creative and cultural projects they want to take part in

Throughout the year we’ve been coming together to share creative documentation and collective learning that continues to contribute to Dudley's Cultural Strategy. We’ll be working over the next few months to continue to compile this learning to ensure that Dudley’s ecosystem VITAL SIGNS are growing towards greater system health.
