Nature Connected Organisations and Teams
Nature connected organisations and teams recognise, value, and nurture close relationships with nature.
They are committed to fostering strong human-nature relationships, and to the protection and restoration of nature. While organisations may recognise the multiple threats arising from a broken human-nature relationship, and work to mitigate the effects of this, it is just as important that they recognise their potential to bring positive change into the world by taking steps to heal that relationship. (From the Nature Connected Organisations Handbook, University of Derby.)
The team behind Dudley People's School for Climate Justice (people from Dudley CVS, CoLab Dudley, Ekho Collective CIC and Workshop 24) have been experimenting with all kinds of ways to invite nature connection in all kinds of spaces around Dudley borough. From ponds to High Streets, woodlands to town centres. Dudley CVS staff are developing experiments to increase nature connection across different teams and projects in the organisation.
We’d love to meet others working on nature connection in local groups and organisations across Dudley borough.
Here are just some things we could do together:
Explore the five Pathways to Nature Connection (in the Nature Connection Handbook).
Share and develop tools and resources for nature connection in our organisations and teams.
Explore the tree framework for nature connected organisations (in the Nature Connected Organisations Handbook)
Support each other to develop plans for nature connection, share learning and celebrate successes.
Nature connected organisations and teams is an offer from Time Rebel Lorna Prescott, a member of the CoLab Dudley team and Dudley CVS officer. This is part of our work on Dudley People’s School for Climate Justice.
